Beyond empty? 15.149 gallon fillup?

Re: Beyond empty? 15.149 gallon fillup?
Gary, I did two things to "calibrate" my SGII, beside setting tank size = 15 gal.
1) Calibrated speed (HOME>MORE>SETUP>SPEED) (p16 of SG manual) using a gps and with the cruise control set to 65mph. As I recall that adjustment was +1%.
2) Calibrated fuel economy reading (HOME>MORE>FILLUP>[set gallons pumped] (p18-19 of SG manual). This is where you adjust the SG for the actual quantity of fuel pumped at that fillup. For me, this number seems to have stabilized over the last two tanks to +15%, and I probably won't change it again. I don't know what is actually being calibrated here.

I haven't calibrated my speed, and this may be where I getting less trip miles than the dash. Thanks for that tip!

Around here we have some radar signs that post "your" speed as you pass the speed limit sign. The digital radar speed always matches my SG speed.
The dash needle always reads about 2 MPH high.
I hit 40 MPH when the entire width of the needle has past the 40 MPH mark, and I can see the 40 MPH mark to the left of the needle.
I think this is true for most cars.
I also think this is why some people say they can go 42 MPH in EV.
We all know this is not the case!
Just something to keep in mind.
( and GPS is not accurate for land speed if you are on a curve or hill, of course. )
