Don't forget Gibson Swept Side Exhaust (cheaper then the Magnaflow) My brother has had a Gibson exhaust on his 2000 F-150 for 6 years now, Quality product with a nice sound.http://gibsonexhaust.com
Also check out go-Rhino nerf bars, I have them on my FEH.

Interesting... It clearly says on the site that it fits hybrids too.

http://www.gibsonperformance.com/pro...&model=659#659

I wonder who has a higher flowing exhaust? The Gibson looks like it has a few more bends to it than the MagnaFlow. I wonder which one has better flow?

Right now I am seeing a shipped price of $359 for the Gibson and $386 shipped for the MagnaFlow...so about a tank full of gas difference in price.

Anyone have any experience with either?

Those extra bends in the Gibson exhaust might be the difference between fitting the hybrid and not fitting the hybrid. I noticed the Gibson says "will fit hybrid" in it's product description, were the Magnaflow dosn't.

Do you have any under-hood pics of your intake?

No, unfortunately no pictures.

To remove the silencer tube the +12v battery needs to be removed. There is a bolt on the radiator support frame that holds the tube in place. The filter box may need to be removed so the silencer tube can be disconnected, I forgot if I did. Save the tube for re-install/next owner.

In the rubber intake tube between the filter and TB there is a honeycomb plastic (?) piece. That is one difficult item to get out! You'll need to break it and remove it in pieces. Just be positive all traces are out of the tube before re-installation.

I ended up buying the K&N filter from AJUSA.com, they always seem to have the cheapest shipped prices for K&N filters, which was $35.50/shipped.

https://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/stores...d9d0bac049f78f

I then purchased a MagnaFlow cat back exhaust.

PART #:
16676
YEAR:
04-07
DESCRIPTION:
New! Now Available.
2.0L/2.3L I-4, 3.0L V-6, rear exit

I thought about the Gibson, but it looked like their exhaust had a few more bends to it and I wasn't sure if the tail pipe was going to come out the rear (in the stock location) or behind the rear tire. I prefer the stock location, just seems simpler and cleaner to me. I'll tell ya how it all goes.

The exhaust should be coming in next week, not sure if I am going to pay a place $50 to install it or if I should just do it myself. The K&N filter is already installed.

Anyone else working on any projects???

For me, a performance part on an FEH has to increase fuel economy. Can you determine if the K&N and the MagnaFlow have effected your gas mileage?

I will be a very bad baseline for folks for a number of reasons.

I have a new '07 MMH which gets very limited use. 2 months of ownership and 500 miles... the car is not even broken in yet and my best mpg is 25.9...which is far less than most I know. Plus I will be installing the exhaust immediately when it arrives, so I don't know what the actual best mpg would have been stock Vs. installing upgrades.

I consider myself to be a leadfooted person with a conscience. I figure it was my time to pay back into society, and I am for a greener lifestyle. My last 2 vehicles were a Mustang and F-150... This time around I was flipping between a MazdaSpeed6-AWD and the MMH-AWD (I live outside of Chicago and the AWD is a must when it snows). Obviously these are 2 polar opposites of vehicles and the salesperson was a littel confused.

Regardless of vehicle I will usually punch the gas to keep up with traffic or stay slightly ahead...plus I know that in the winter mpg suffers a lot with a hybrid, and Spring/Summer is right around the corner... So if I am recording 24mpg now, and then 33mpg when it's warmer I can't say it was because of the parts...although the emails I have been getting people tell me that they have seen around 2 mpg, as well as an ever slight kick in the pants at speeds over >35mph when you floor it to pass someone.

It has been a week since this post did you get your parts in? I am sure curious to see/read what you think.
