I am going to rotate my tires question.

I am going to rotate my tires question.
I am heading to Atlantic City NJ for a few days (from Virginia). I have clsoe to 4200 on my FEH so when I get back I will have close to 5000 miles. I plan to do my own tire rotations every 5000 miles myself. So my question is, do i need to do anything "special" for this vehicle? I have always done my own rations but this is my first hybrid and the TPMS.

It is always best to keep the best (most tread) tires on the front. In your case, you don't have to worry since your vehicle has few miles.

Hey Luke.. nothing special.. just like any other car.
I personally like to reverse the wheels going onto the drive axle (in your case, move the LF to the LR, LR to the RF, RF to the RR, and RR to the LF).
As far the TPMS, nothing needs to be changed.
And the Hybrid.. as long as you don't need to take the brakes apart for any reason, there's nothing special to do.

Re: I am going to rotate my tires question.
I would suggest following the rotation pattern in the owners manual. That way you won't forget and inconsistently rotate them. I also think it's front to back and reverse the drive axle side to side, but I check the manual.
Everyone has their own quirks. I rotate every 10,000 miles because I think 5000 is too much work. I also put a dab of anti-seize on the threads just to be safe.

No special concerns, provided you don't rotate in a full size spare with TPMS. The TPMS won't accept a new wheel without reprogramming from the dealership. Been there, done that.

Re: I am going to rotate my tires question.
Our stock Continentals wear like iron from what I've (and others) have observed. Unless you're driving gravel or some other really rough surface, I doubt you'll notice any wear in 5,000 miles. I rotated mine for the first time at 20,000 miles and the tread still looked fresh. It seems aging (cracks, brittleness, etc.) will determine tire life more than tread for many drivers.

The attached page is the pattern for the FWD. The poster and you have an AWD... isn't it different for the AWD?

Re: I am going to rotate my tires question.
The pattern for the Escape FWD and AWD should be the same since the AWD operates as FWD almost all the time. The other Ford recommendation is for RWD (reverse of the FWD recommendation) and there is no separate recommendation for AWD (as I recall, I'm not home right now).
