Pleasant Surprise
I've had my 2008 FEH AWD for almost a year now with about 5500 on the clock. I have never been able to get better than 28 or so on a tank for the whole last year. Now all of a sudden the last two tanks are averaging 34-35 mpg.. If I didn't know better - I would guess someone has been putting extra gas in my tank. Drove it over 400 miles yeaterday averaging 33.5 -- Hope it keeps up

Re: Pleasant Surprise
Good Job!
I had a similar experience at about 3400 miles. Since that post I have had 2 better tanks. 34.9 was my last tank and my best to date. I am now at 5050 miles in 8 months.

Re: Pleasant Surprise
I saw a bump at around 5K miles, 7K, and now 12K.
My FWD is averaging 37 mpg really easily.
My last tank I pulled 39 MPG.
Make it a goal to never raise your rpms above 1500 except for short 2 sec bursts of maybe 200-300 rpms. Then it uses batter for those few seconds and you accelerate. Once you can use cruise control it works perfect....
Driving is low also makes a difference...especially if you fake shift...I can see around 100 rpms for the same speed.
My driving is 60% highway/country roads....and 40 town.
