I got mine in the mail yesterday and called my dealer today and they have never heard of it. The service manager says he will call me back. 2 hours later I get my call and they say they have nothing on this and are contacting Ford to get the details and for me to call back next week. I feel kind of let down by them.

For any campaigns, Ford never seems to give dealers a "heads up". That is the way it has always been. Plus, many times, the parts aren't even ready to shipped out to dealers yet.

Got my FEH back from the dealer and asked the service rep. exactly what was done but they did not know any more than was indicated on the final invoice. The final invoice (it was for $0.00) had the following:

07B48 SERVICE HARNESS INSTALLATION
CAUSE: 39306 INSTALL HARNESS AND PROGRAM BATTERY MODULE
07B48B INSTALL HARNESS IN THE HVTB- REPROGRAM THE BCM

Upon examining the HV battery it looks as if the top cover has been removed because of fresh tool marks on the screws and the cut ends of zip ties on top the battery.

The fact that they re-programed the BCM makes me wonder if I will se any difference in battery performance and/or fuel economy with the new program. Hey, I can hope can't I.

I hope they reprogram. Methinks that the 2006s get slightly better FE than the 2005s.

Ah but does that have to do with the BCM or the ECM? Battery control program or the engine control program.

Yes, but hope it isn't worse.

Almost certainly not true, but "what if" Ford just realized their 10 year battery wasn't going to make it a full 10 years?

A simple re-program to be even more gentle with battery would extend it's lifespan. Just being devil's advocate here.... probably an unfounded worry!

Most likely they are installing a new resistor that changes the parameters and they have to reflash the PCM so it will use the new tolerences. Very common.

I had the same thought; in fact, I've been thinking on holding out to see just what is involved and if it's reflashed, to see if it behaves differently; for the worse, I may hold out and risk the issue. Besides, couldn't I clear the error with my ScanGauge? Of course, if it's for the better, then I'd hurry in.

I own a '07 FEH and have not gotten the customer satisfaction notice. I read the scanned letter posted above and it applies to certain 05-07 FEHs. Why would some vehicles have this problem and not others? I'd think the batteries are the same...

Anyone else not get the letter???

I have not received the letter yet. I have a 2007 FWD purchased at the end of October last year.
