While driving home from work this morning, it dawned on my what is under the "Escape" badge. It is the "XLT" badging. The reason it had dawned on me was I was following an 05 - 07 Escape XLT with a V6 at that time.

It is a regular, V6 Escape.

Why would they do this? It is just a mock-up. They didn't have a real hybrid available and they wanted a photo. Look how hard all of you had to look to notice!

BTW, as far as we know, a real, solar equipped FEH was never built.
Solar panels such as those provide less than 1 horsepower.
( actually, more like 0.1 horsepower )

The only usefull purpose would be: to run a small, 75 watt cooling fan while the car is parked!
