I'm trying to be nice and not be a PITA female, but that's all about to end. When it happens, it's NOT going to be pretty and I'm sure that I will be Rusty Eck Ford's worst nightmare until I get some satisfaction on this. I've been trying really hard not to take it out on the poor service guy who is their only hybrid-trained repair guy, but if I hear one more excuse as to why a part isn't in or why they keep finding yet something else wrong with this one, I'm done with being nice and understanding.

Don't look at it as being a PITA female - look at it as being someone who spent upwards of $30k to drive a used Taurus. You have every right to be keeping old Rusty awake at night worrying about how bad you could make it for him.

Deadlines are a great way, in my experience, to get them motivated.

So, in a week they couldn't find another equivalent Hybrid in the midwest OR the parts to fix yours? B.S. The parts are sitting out on the lot in the other Escape you didn't buy. While they "look" for a suitable replacement vehicle they are probably hoping to get yours working again and out the door. I wouldn't want it back - it is damaged goods.

I just got off the phone with the GM of the dealership. Of course, *NOW* they're talking about possibly swapping out with me for an '06 4WD that they got in yesterday. Of course, they are going to want me to pay the difference and I told them that was NOT an option as I paid for my '05 up front. So now they're talking to the Ford people to see what we can do.

The GM even said he'd see if they still had that one '05 on the lot and pull the needed part off of it. I told him that personally, I was not comfortable in owning the one that I purchased as so many different things had gone wrong with it in the first 23 days. I also told him that I really didn't want to become a huge PITA for them but I was heading in that direction is something didn't happen to rectify the situation asap. He, in turn, said that I was far more patient than he would have been.

I'll let you all know what I find out tomorrow.

Tammy,

As someone who owns both an '05 and an '06, let me tell you that there is no real difference in them other then the '06 can have a sunroof and running boards. Mine are identically equipped and I paid about the same for both of them. If the '06 is the same as the '05 you bought or even if it has a few more bells and whistles then you should be driving that one away tomorrow with not another nickel out of your pocket. They should even be paying all the sales taxes and transfer fees to the new one and giving you a $50 gift certificate to a nice restaurant in town.

Let them worry about getting restitution from Ford. They owe you.....

Not really on Tammy's problems, but this thread seemed to fit....

I just got my FEH back from 17,000 mile service (3rd one).

L.O.F. + rotation $39.50
Install Fog Light $39.50 (+$90.00 in parts I ordered last week)
New seat back $0.0 (Warrenty)
Fix Battery A/C leak $0.0 (Warrenty)
Order Rear Shock (leaking) $0.0 (Warrenty)
Wash and Vac $0.0 (they kick but sometimes)

I am one fairly happy camper, but those fog lights suck.

First I get a call from the parts dept today about an hour and a half ago, telling me that they managed to get the part in but it's going to take almost 12 hours to put the cables in. Okay, I resign myself to waiting a few more days for it. Then about 15 minutes ago, we get a call from the dealership telling us that we can bring all of our paperwork in tomorrow at noon and pick up the *'06* FEH that they just got in! Okay, so I get a newer year model and one with (hopefully) a working PATS! I guess it doesn't get too much better than that!

Oh, I can definitely remember how to drive it! I am so jazzed about this! I didn't really need a 4WD, but hey, it comes in handy every other year or so when we get that random ice storm that shuts the city down.

I'm just glad that I didn't really have to resort to scary, red-headed beyotch from hades tactics to get what I felt I deserved.

WOW! So you're upgrading from a 2wd '05 to a 4WD '06? for no cost! In that case, I'd run as soon as possible to the dealer and pick it up before they change their mind!

Congrats!

Talking Re: Warranty Repairs

Yep, no extra cost! For once, it actually paid for me to instead of ! I can hardly wait to take my first road trip! I think we'll head out to West Texas to thank my grandmother who actually ponied up the money for the FEH in the first place. Yeah, I know, I'm a spoiled rotten grandbaby. Of course, Gran said that I had to have something more safe to drive than my KIA Sportage to drive her great-grandbaby around in. And she didn't want me getting one of those "little bitty death-mobiles" that my Grandpa hated with a passion.

Still happy dancing!

They are making you take a 4WD model? They should at least throw in some $$ to compensate you for the extra gas you are going to burn..... .

Seriously, glad to hear they are doing the right thing for you. Once you have one that is reliable, you will be thrilled by it. Maybe Rusty Eck was reading this thread and figures he would get some good P.R. from it.

Keep us informed now as to how this one works out.
