Who JUST received their MMH/FEH?

Re: Who JUST received their MMH/FEH?
Jerry, do you know of any other cars/vehicles that have this much room (I have two big dogs and my girlfriend has 5 big dogs, they travel with us often) and get 30+ mpg? Oh and it should have a blue oval on the front....my grandfather worked most of his life at a Ford factory and that factory supports alot of people near where I grew up. Please let me know which model to look at that isn't so "absurd" and I'm all over it! Besides I'm not even ready for the hybrid yet, but I know there is a wait so it should be here right about when I'm ready, it's called planning ahead, not being absurd.....
For anyone else looking to get an 08', get it on the lot or wait for an 09'....my dealer confirmed ordering for 08' is over, 09' order banks open sometime in April.

What, with 18/26MPG and only $600 less (after the tax credit) for the Mazda? I think I'll stick with the FEH, even if I have to plan ahead or make a deal in CA and ship.

Just rattlin yer chains. We love our FEH. But it is only a car. we don't hypermile or drool over it. I've owned at least 200 cars in my lifetime, used to be a broker in Florida. bang for buck our FEH is a long term keeper.

I've been reading messages on this forum (but not writing anything) for about six months. Now I have something to report. It's payback time for all of the good information I have received from all of you.
We ordered our 2008 FEH 4WD on November 28 last Fall from our dealer in Hillsboro, Oregon where we live. Hillsboro is in the western part of the Portland metro area. Our truck was delivered to the dealer from the plant in Kansas City on February 29, 2008 (Leap Year Day). That's delivery in three months. Faster than what I anticipated based on what I had been reading.
My wife and I are retired empty nesters who are planning to do some traveling. We have children and grandchildren in six states. Thanks for the input on this marvelous SUV from all of you. It has made the waiting time go faster. Also, I feel much better prepared as a new owner. I must admit, however, that nothing quite prepared me for the sinking feeling that ocurred when I pulled up to that first stop light and the sound went dead. It's going to take some getting used to.
Regards to all, John.

Re: Who JUST received their MMH/FEH?
Wow, I count my luck to find a FEH and buy it the same day. I live in northern CA and was purchasing the car on the X-plan. The dealer wasn't thrilled since the weren't making alot of money off of me.
What was interesting is .. when I was reviewing invoices... 2 cars were EXACTLY the same and there was $1000 difference. Apparently, the cars are sold to the dealer as a commodity and the cost to the dealer due to market forces went up between the two car builds. So my FEH was built in October 2008... and the other was built in November. That was the ONLY difference. Mine was $27015 and the other was $28015. So we saved a grand right there just by taking an 'older' 2008 FEH. If you have the opportunigy, ask about the 'build date' and the cost at the time.
I'm loving it and with the warmer weather coming I'm expecting better MPG since it will warm up quicker.

Ok, not here just yet but thought you might like seeing a very recent window sticker - the unit was produced in mid March (ordered end of Nov.)
(Alright, alright - maybe I just like showing it off )
Here's the sicker:

Re: Who JUST received their MMH/FEH?
Ordered my FEH October 15, 07 and it came in to the dealer on 03/24/08 so that equates to just over 5 months. I've only driven it 80 miles but each time is a joy and an adventure to see how long I can remain electric (gas free). At $3.25 a gallon, every minute in electric mode is worth it.
Hooray!!

Re: Who JUST received their MMH/FEH?
Took 4 months... ordered last week of December. But WELL WORTH THE WAIT.
Wish I didn't have to sleep so I could just keep driving!!
