any dealer customizations possible esp. re: Intelligent Key?
Does anyone know if there are any dealer customizations possible with the Altima Hybrid, presumably thru their Consult III tool? I'm talking about changing settings like the ones that have to be changed thru Toyota Techstream that Priuses have (see PDF at http://priuschat.com/threads/things-...9/#post-940697).
I'm specifically more interested in some sort of Intelligent Key warning. My mom has an 07 NAH and has had it since early 08. Today, we had a conversation and it sounds like she left the car turned on 3-4x at least overnight. She remarked that she came to the car and found it turned on already. I don't know if the READY light was on. To me, it sounds like she left the car in READY, closed the door, ignored the warning beeps (and all dashboard lights being on) and walked away. My mother's over 70 now, so perhaps her memory's starting to go...
I told her to always double check and that it was dangerous to leave it running as it's parked in a garage. (I've seen stories of people dying of CO poisoning from leaving their car on.)
On my Prius, if I leave the car in READY and close the door w/me standing outside w/the Smart Key (Toyota parlance), its beeps are louder. If I try pushing its black buttons to lock, it emits a long beep and refuses to lock.
I tried the same thing w/my mom's NAH and Nissan just lets you lock the door w/the car still in READY. Any way to change this behavior to match Toyota's? If so, then perhaps she could be doubly sure not to leave the car on by always locking it, even at home.
