Thumbs up FEH Sighting: Electric Company Vehicle

I saw another FEH on the road the other day ... a rare occasion for me.

This one was a Commonwealth Edison company car. Kind of appropriate, eh? The electric company vehicle has a hybrid gas &...

Re: Accessories not available for Hybrid

My '05 FEH has running boards.

I didn't really want them ... and negotiated the price down a bit, but they are there.

You can seem them in this picture:

Re: Full Size Spare on FEH

I was told, by the service advisor at my dealer, that a full size spare would fit without any problems ... but there are no inexpensive tires available to use as a spare.

Re: Gap In Front Headliner

Mine had one too ... I mentioned it to the service rep when I took my FEH in for scheduled maintenance and they said it should be replaced.

Now there's no significant gap (maybe less than 1/4").

Re: I Wish the FEH Had...

Add this one to the list: A button that I could push to tell the hybrid system that I know that I'm about to stop, so it can shut the engine off until I accelerate again.

Re: First oil change...and subsequent changes

I think you'll actually get a consistent answer of 5K miles ... which is what the owners manual states for 2005.

I try very hard ... and so far I've been sucessful, but I've only had my FEH for 1...

Re: ICE starts & stops

In that case, shouldn't it just use the brake pads?

Exclamation ICE starts & stops

Folks:

Recently I've observed some somewhat odd behavior in my 2005 FEH ...

When I'm coming off the expresway, and I'm coasting down the exit ramp, the ICE will shut off (as I would expect it...

Re: Lock the roof rack?

I use a standard yakima rack system with the "Mighty Mounts". The Mighty Mounts wrap around the factory rack, and are what the standard Yakima rack connect to.

Lock the roof rack?

Does anyone know if there is a way to lock the roof rack to the roof?

I have a Yakimah ski rack for my FEH ... and the rack itself has reasonable locks, but they are kind of useless if the rack...

Re: NAV system Gripes

Built in or external?

If you're talking about external, I have a Magellan Roadmate 700 that's great. It's got a 10gb microdrive built in with all of of the US and most of Canada built in. It...

Nav system rebooted

Yesterday, as I was driving home from work, I heard on the radio that there was a bad traffic jam on my route.

I tried to use the nav system to route around the jam ... trying different...

Re: NAV Home question

Press and hold it when you are at your home location.

Don't be surprised if the address it comes up with isn't actually your home address ... mine lists a house about a block down the street.

Re: Saw a local dealer advertising the FEH in Chicago

Heh, I'll keep an eye out for that ... but as I have Tivo, I don't watch that many commercials.

What channel was that on?

Re: Acceleration surge

Acceleration. It surged forward just a bit. Since my foot was on the brake, I was able to counter it quickly.

Re: Anyone Else Tempted To...

If I ever hear a Hummer owner complain about the price of gas, I'm gonna deck 'em.

Owning a Hummer means not having to care about throwing money out the window.

Re: Full size spare?

I believe it did include the alloy wheel. The service advisor told me a steel wheel wasn't available.

I'm going to hold off until I find something cheaper.

Question Full size spare?

Anyone know if it's possible to put a full size spare where the mini-spare is stored?

I really don't like only having a mini-spare and am contemplating getting a full size tire.

Thanks!

Re: Color change of Compass reading

When it has two sats it's pretty close to getting a third, so that would be a reasonable indication of 'power'. Not precise, but adequate.

Many moons ago, when I was into sailing, all the...
