Re: cross bar and roof rack mods

Interesting thread. I guess you now know why the screw heads got stripped. If you use the correct Pozidriv driver/bit, then the screws will be perfectly fine and you won't have to get new ones.

Re: cross bar and roof rack mods

That's a great idea. I've never looked at a regular Escape so I didn't know they had tracks like that. That would be a good upgrade if you carry stuff on the roof a lot. My wife and I almost never...

cross bar and roof rack mods

I wanted to mention some slight modifications I made to our crossbars and roof rack, just in case someone else wants to do something similar. These comments apply to the 2007/2008/2009 FEH and the...

Re: got a 2007-2008 cabin air filter!

I'm not sure. The oil change stickers they sometimes put on your window are usually preprinted with something like next oil change at blank date and/or blank mileage. These stickers are completely...

Re: got a 2007-2008 cabin air filter!

One more thing that I forgot...

The Ford/Motorcraft pollen filter box also included two 2.75" x 1.5" stickers, one white and one clear. Does anyone have any idea what these are for?

Re: THE Air and Oil Filter Thread

As I just posted in another thread (https://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/f26/got-2007-2008-cabin-air-filter-15860/#post148720), the confirmed part numbers for a 2007-2008 cabin air filter are:

got a 2007-2008 cabin air filter!

I just got a cabin air filter for our 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid today. Finally! Here is my long story...

As has been discussed here previously, the Ford parts database is wrong. It lists the FP-49...

Re: cargo organizers?

To follow up on this, I noticed that the Nifty website lists Cargo-Logic for the 2007 Escape Hybrid. I contacted Nifty and they claimed the Cargo-Logic for the regular 2007 Escape would also fit the...

Re: 2007 MMH Cross bars?

They gave me two boxes. Each box has a Ford label that says "ONE 5E6Z-7855106-AAA SUPPORT". Each box also has a shipping label and the two boxes were shipped separately to my dealer from two...

Re: 2007 MMH Cross bars?

I can confirm that part number. We just got the crossbars for our 2007 Escape Hybrid and that is the part number on the boxes.

You need to turn the thumbscrews an extraordinary number of times to...

Re: GPS antenna location?

Well, a latitude/longitude display would be nice, but we already can see that on our handheld GPS unit. For us, it's really frustrating to have an onboard GPS unit with street maps, but not be able...

Re: GPS antenna location?

Regarding the GPS unit (which is the Visteon Navigation Radio), a schematic wouldn't help us that much. (Although it would be nice to know which GPS chipset they are using.)

I would like to know...

cargo organizers?

We own a new 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid and we're getting tired of stuff sliding around in the back. The 2007 Ford Escape/Escape Hybrid Accessories catalog lists some ideas:

Rear Cargo Net: Doesn't...

Re: GPS antenna location?

When people were talking about a little square in this thread, they were talking about a little recessed square on the dashboard next to the windshield. I don't know what it is, but it's not the...

Re: GPS antenna location?

Thanks, that is consistent with the results of my experiments.

GaryG also said it was behind the unit, but I thought he meant it was the little square.

I guess I'll pull the unit myself and...

Re: GPS antenna location?

OK, I figured it out.

As you know, GPS signals are weak and can be blocked easily. Whenever we drive into our basement garage, the heading indicator turns red indicating the loss of GPS reception....

GPS antenna location?

My wife and I are experienced GPS users (geocaching, survey markers, etc).

We've noticed that the Escape Hybrid roof is thick enough to block our garage door remote control. This made me wonder...

4WD indicator?

My wife and I just bought a 2007 4WD Escape Hybrid, so you'll probably be seeing a bunch of random questions from me. :)

We haven't taken it offroad yet. Is there any kind of light or other...
