Re: Buy a spare hub and tire...

I had the same problem except it took Saturn 5 days to get us a new tire (none available it seemed) which was appalling. I looked into a donut but they are very expensive so ended up buying a used...

Re: Hybrid Vue Too Much Trouble?

And what percentage accuracy would you claim? You comment is ridiculous and misleading. Yes, there is a very small margin of error but over hundreds of tanks, dozens of GL's, and so on, I think you...

Re: Hybrid Vue Too Much Trouble?

To rain on the parade a bit, most of our driving is suburban and we get a rather pathetic 22.4 - this is the same as my 3L I6 BMW which weighs more and does much the same circuit.

In my case, I...

Re: Buy a spare hub and tire...

Would it have killed them to put an eternally mounted donut tire under the car even? (I wanted to buy a donut and figure out a mount arrangement but these things cost a fortune after-market so I...

Buy a spare hub and tire...

So the car got a flat on a rear tire one Saturday morning. No big deal you'd think, especially as it was slow and lost the air on the driveway. Normally you'd just change the wheel and drop off the...

Re: Vue GL right for us?

All that said, check out our numbers - we are averaging about 22.4 MPG which can probably be put down to short commute and a lot of potential start/stop on 45 miles per hour roads.

We live in...

Re: Anyone try out 2008?

Jumping in here. I have issues with the MPG's the GL delivers over the regular 4 cylinder under our use; however, as a performance booster I can't complain. You get near 6 acceleration in my opinion...

Re: What Gas Mileage Are You Getting With Your Vue?

Do you have your numbers posted here yet?

Our's isn't doing much better and we've had it out of our hands for over a month as they tried to test it out. No great revelations. Basically it seems...

Re: Anyone notice the high MPG people are by display?

Thanks everyone. I, too, report miles/fuel not Scanguage (though it's a decent indicator - just not accurate). I think it likely that the overall economy is inflated by the 'display' false readings,...

Anyone notice the high MPG people are by display?

So I was wondering how some people were turning in huge fuel economy figures. Well, I took a look and most of them are some form of 'by display' meaning a Scanguage. I have one too but they aren't...

Re: First tire dead at under 11,000 miles

Latest on the tires. Both front toes had been set way off so inclined inwards trashing the outsides. No idea if this contributes to our poor MPG's but the next few fillups may indicate one way or...

First tire dead at under 11,000 miles

I noticed the front RHS tire outer side 2" is pretty much bald now. The rest are looking like they've got, perhaps, another 10K at most in them. Now, you may say, surely this is my fault for improper...

Re: Letter from Saturn today...

Had the recall done. Two tanks later no improvement in MPG so now at 22.3 - totally unacceptable. Now the key is sticking for the second time so it's got to go back in again so more inconvenience....

Re: What Gas Mileage Are You Getting With Your Vue?

Actually you're absolutely correct - my mistake - though, in my defense, I was told this by Saturn as we were/are having such disappointing economy. Perhaps if this is what they told me, maybe I...

Re: What Gas Mileage Are You Getting With Your Vue?

Acually that's not true. If you have ECO set to OFF it disables all the Hybrid functions, Try it, you'll see immediately. If it's set off this may be a contributor

Re: What Gas Mileage Are You Getting With Your Vue?

Check out my tank details. All noted so you can see the variance. We're hoping the recall will help solve some of the issues but won't be surprised if it doesn't. Bottom line is we have a 15 min...

Re: My Saturn Vue GL...

Oh, and good luck on filling a tire 100% full with nitrogen. There's no way for the residual air to get out anyway

Re: My Saturn Vue GL...

Siping - they try to persuade you to put extra cuts in the tread using their cross slicing machine to keep the tires cooler and last longer etc etc. Pure nonsense, like nitrogen, designed to pad the...

Re: My Saturn Vue GL...

It's a silly marketing thing that does nothing. Worried about losing pressure - check your tires like you're supposed to. Right up there with siping. Complete waste of money

Re: Can somebody clean up....

Also true for nedthelab and the 43.9 claim by display. Someone needs to calibrate their scanguage

So will all the other versions have the same drives?

Re: Saturn Vue Hypermileing Tips

Hence my numerous comments about the technique not the technology yielding the better MPG's, which, to my mind, isn't what one should expect when you shell out the extra money for a GL. So, I'd say,...

Re: Disengagement of auto stop feature

Make sure your commute is suitable before you decide though. Check out the reported MPGs. A short start/stop will not be good. We're regularly under 20MPG under these circumstances. Expect high 20's...

Re: Well, now below 23 average...

To HybridVUE: thanks for the thoughts. There's no malfunction to be found - in the time we've had it, Saturn/GM have had it for over a month checking everything out. We probably have the cleanest...
