Re: Buy a spare hub and tire...

That seems like a reasonable solution--have one nearby to at least get you around. I think I'll look into that. Did you get it at a junkyard?

You're right about new cars leaving out spares...

Re: Is this a real hybrid?

Not really. They just don't make very many of them, for a variety of reasons. For the first part of 2008, hybrid battery supply was diverted to existing 2007 models for replacement due to a recall....

Re: Hybrid Vue Too Much Trouble?

We too have had very little trouble with our VUE GL, and ours was one in which the battery failed. The VUE was out of service while the updated battery was installed and all has been well since...

Re: What Gas Mileage Are You Getting With Your Vue?

Reporting in with a 34.9 mpg trip this weekend. Went 539 miles on the tank, and followed it with two more tanks over 30 mpg (and the current one looks good too). :D

Re: What Gas Mileage Are You Getting With Your Vue?

Great time for great mileage! Congrats to all who are driving their GLs efficiently. For nearly 2000 miles now (and counting), we've averaged nearly 31 mpg and that's NO highway--just local country...

Re: Buy a spare hub and tire...

What makes this even worse (for your dealer) is that the tire IS common. Too many folks think that the tires on the VUE GL are some wacky, expensive, unusual hard-to-find tires. They aren't. They...

Re: Air recirculation

It probably helps (for the reasons SGL pointed out), but it won't allow the moisture in the air to evaporate and thus lead to foggy windows, forcing you to use the defrost, which disables recirc and...

Re: Vue GL right for us?

This site is a great help in deciding whether or not the VUE GL is right for you, and as HybridVue said, congrats for taking the time to make an informed decision. It really appears that short...

Re: Volt battery testing started

I agree; sticking with facts is important--GM actually sold 577 hybrids last month, not less than 100 (according to GM's Mark LaNeve). Yep, still pretty abysmal, but just want to keep things...

Re: Is your battery a new part?

Great news, Jan! Here's to many (efficient) miles in your GL. :D

Still haven't checked our replacement battery's P/N yet, but the dealer says they're the new ones...

Re: Is your battery a new part?

One more question on the battery part number topic:

Is the battery P/N able to be seen in the car, or is it hidden under the metal case? In other words, do I need to see the P/N from the repair...

Re: Anyone try out 2008?

Wow--I had no idea there were dealers with that kind of inventory. I had heard (unofficially of course) that each dealer would receive a demo model only and customer models had to be ordered from a...

Re: Is your battery a new part?

Thank you for the information. I did receive the voluntary notice this week.

I suppose that the part numbers of our new battery should be printed on the service receipt, but I haven't checked. I...

Is your battery a new part?

There are plenty of threads and postings regarding replacement batteries for our VUEs. I had mine replaced in November 2007.

I've heard that there may be a recall letter regarding this problem to...

Re: My Vue Hybrid battery bit the dust!!

When ours bit the big one in November, I too wondered if it was a good idea to continue driving it. My dealer was very gracious and immediately offered a rental while we waited as soon as he noticed...

Re: Anyone try out 2008?

We have a 2007 GL, and I've driven a 2008 XE FWD (not GL). Quite a difference. The 08 was very solidly built and felt considerably heavier than the 07. While I like the interior on the new model,...

Re: My Vue Hybrid battery bit the dust!!

Sorry to hear that. Mine bit the big one in early November. It took 11 days in total to get the new battery in, but it's been fine ever since. Our dealer was very helpful, too. Ours was the first...

Re: Anyone notice the high MPG people are by display?

I don't have a scanguage (santa stiffed me yet again this year)--all done by hand calculation. I don't think any of the users regularly reporting their VGL's mpg report strictly scanguage numbers.

Re: Who's had the harness installed?

How long is your typical trip? Given cold temps, the GL won't shut down until it is warmed up completely. I find it won't shut down for at least a few miles, but that's ok (for us) because we have...

Re: Who's had the harness installed?

We finally had the harness update done. We're probably one of the last to do it. My wife called and said the check engine light illuminated, but the car seemed to be running fine. I met her at the...

Re: Who's had the harness installed?

Sorry for the troubles. I've had my share of headaches over the trailer lights on my jon boat trailer, but since I did the wiring, I guess I know who to blame.

I'd be surprised if the...

Re: Who's had the harness installed?

Great news! Did the OLS signal the oil change? We had the OLS in our previous Saturn, an L300, and we used it. I'm amazed at how different it is in our GL, though. We drive exactly the same...

Re: Who's had the harness installed?

Yes, Stormy's post was something I didn't want to read! Still, seems to be an exception as most others have reported success. Glad yours is still going well. Keep us updated.

Re: Who's had the harness installed?

John, your situation with the ignition key is EXACTLY the same as mine. I asked repeatedly that they replace the switch, but to no avail. According to corporate, they are obliged to first lube it...

Re: What Gas Mileage Are You Getting With Your Vue?

What a load. I'm amazed about how some dealers know so little about the product they're selling. All it takes is one glance at the EPA estimates and you KNOW the car will do better predominantly on...
