Have > 156k miles on my 2007 HCH. It drives well, had IMA battery just replaced, gets good mileage. But the AC no longer works (hole in bottom of one of the tanks which I read was a common problem) and the cruise control also conked out. Both are expensive repairs. AC repair is $700 at dealer and about the same at an independent guy. Cruise control also expensive. I need advice on whether to repair (cheaply) or to just buy another car. I'm looking at other hybrids.

 

Probably too late to the game on this, but if you compare the total cost of the repairs to a down payment on a new car and/or six months worth of payments, I'd say it's probably worth it to do the repairs. I have 132K mi on my '06 HCH, and I'd probably do the repairs.
