Default Nav System & Bluetooth

Howdy:

I have an 06 FEH on order for a Jan 2 delivery and was wondering. Does anyone know if the Nav system is bluetooth enabled? I know when I test drove it, there was a phone symbol on the keypad, but the sales person didn't have a clue what bluetooth was, let alone if the car came with that capability.

Also, has anyone replaced the six disc changer with a music keg? Will the controls on the Nav system/radio effectively control a music keg?

Thanks for your help.

Ryan

It's ready to have Bluetooth added, but it doesn't come enabled. Instead, the button is a mute button (which is nice), which the voice Nav system overrides. From what my dealer told me, it's a quick thing after you pick it up to get the bluetooth activated.

So the FEH 06 has a voice NAV system in it?

I don't want to lead anyone astray. When I say voice Nav system, I mean the voice instructions on the Nav system, not that you can tell it where you want to go and plots, but that with the option on, it will tell you when to turn and so forth on the way to your destination.

Not standard but it's an option. Operates off CDs.

The Nav system does support a Bluetooth handsfree option, I have the Visteon Handsfree kit (that is actually the Parrot CK3100) installed in my FEH and it works great. The kit with install cost $300 and works with any Bluetooth phone that supports "Handsfree" or "Headset" profiles. After the kit is installed the phone button on the NAV unit still acts like a mute, but if you are using the phone the NAV unit will display a Phone screen.

As far as the music keg question, P.I.E. and BlitzSafe both make a unit to control iPods from the NAVs CDDJ connection, however you loose use of the CDDJ itself.

I have been working on an alternative to allow full iPod control and display from the NAV, but it is slow going won't be able to get back to the project until after the new year.

Hi MPPKLL,
Would you mind taking a pic of the phone screen? I'm very very interested in this.
Thank you!

I have posted pictures of the "Phone" screen on the NAV and the Visteon bluetooth handsfree controler on the Share section under FEH.
