Switching from Honda to Prius

Switching from Honda to Prius
Hello all, first time on the Prius site.
I am looking at getting into a used Prius, say 3-4 years old (if I go ahead and sell my '07 Civic hybrid).
Any issues one should be on the lookout for, for years 2008, 2009 and 2010?
Thanks
Cheers
Mike

Re: Switching from Honda to Prius
Hi Mike.
I bought a lease return. 2006 Premium pkg.. Has every option other than Nav. and leather. I purchased it in 2010 Aug. with 19;500 total kilometer's for $15,995 . This car sat on the lot for 4 mths. I watched it go from $18,995 When it hit 15,995 I grabbed it for my wife. She loves it! I prefer to drive my 2006 HCH2 , but the Prius can give better FE normally. The HCH2 will do better on long trips, I think? Mixed city and rural I normally return home at 3.2 indicated with the Prius. I understand the HCH more than the Prius, so this is more than likely why I prefer the HCH. The HCH also feels like a better driver to me. The Prius is great for holidays. Lots of storage. H

Thanks for the tips. Sounds like you got a great car.
Not 100% sure, but I really miss the hatchback, etc. I'm going to start watching the local and provincial sites to see......
Cheers

Another fellow HCHII owner here. I just moved to a 2012 Prius 3- definitely a huge improvement in powertrain design and mileage- you get close to 50mpg without trying.

Re: Switching from Honda to Prius
Best move I ever made was to trade my Honda Civic Hybrid (07) on a Camry Hybrid. Engine is larger, delivers more power more smoothly and yet uses less fuel and my engine isn't even run in yet.

Re: Switching from Honda to Prius
I just traded in my 07 HCH for a new 13 Prius 3. I am extremely happy that I did it. I bought my wife a Prius and was always a bit jealous of all of the electronic extras. The 13 has bluetooth audio which is the best feature. Also, if you get a 13, they have 0% financing and LED Daytime Running Lights - which are great for visibility. All of the used ones that I saw were almost up to the price that I paid for a new one.

Re: Switching from Honda to Prius
MPG was my first priority when choosing a hybrid. I kept coming back to the Prius. I read about Ford, Camry, Diesel & others.
I rented a Prius for a weekend trip. Got 56 & 53 MPG. Plus the driving & quality of the Prius was a surprise. So I bought a 2013 Prius four this week. No other hybrid consistently gets the same numbers a Prius does.
And I still have a 2002 Jetta Diesel which I get 40 MPG.

Re: Switching from Honda to Prius
I purchased a 2013 Prius lift back level 5 to replace my 2003 Honda Civic hybrid. I had put 95K miles on the Honda and was worried about the hybrid battery, so I decided to make the switch as Honda until recently hasn't really changed much; with the exception of the new 2014 Accord that uses newer technology and is suppose to get 50MPG. Anyway, After 10K miles and the Prius's first oil change I am very pleased that on my commute have averaged 57MPG! over the 10K miles, I was lucky and had to really work hypermileing in the Honda to get 45MPG. So I got a ride that is larger, quieter, and gets about 10MPG better... Very happy with the change!!!
