im new to this site and apologize if im going about this in the wrong way but I have a 2006 Honda civic hybrid with the cvt trans. well the trans went out a while ago. im not sure what went out but when I drained the fluid a few buts of friction material came with it. I had pulled the motor and trans as one with the thought I could rebuild it only to find out their parts are hard to find. so with all that said I have came to the decision to sell the vehicle as is. I live near Greenville, sc the battery hasn't have any issues and the motor ran fine just the transmission gave out. I am also willing to part it out. so any offers I will seriously consider

 

Sorry to hear of your woes. You might look into a salvage CVT. I believe they can be had for $1,000-1,500.

How many miles were on it, and how regularly was the fluid changed?

I ask because I have 2 of the '06 model. One with 133K mi and the other with about 212K mi.

I had a similar problem. Next time you should look for those low mileage JDM engines. I bought one from http://www.usedjapanmotors.com/Honda...C_engines.aspx

It costed me as much as a Salvage yard would sell for but with less than 50k miles on it plus it was tested !
