I don't know about their claims of how good it is but last thing I knew used motor oil was toxic because it contains a whole bunch of things from the engine and burnt fuel. I'm not sure I'd "turn it into soil".

 

Says you have to add another product to it before you do that, I am guessing it is suppose to fix that. I will bet if it isn't true it will be found out real quick because that is a lot of waste being pored into yards if not.

Used oil contains lead and other heavy metals. I don't see whats so "green" about this oil. In Texas if you dump your oil on the ground there are severe penalties. Many synthetic oils are made from vegetable oil base stocks.

 

I am not affiliated or invested in any way but I find the idea interesting to say the least.

I would be more interested in the performance of the oil compared to synthetic oils. If it compares well then might be worth it, but to buy it based on "green" claims is kinda foolish.

 

The more I read on their site the more I would RUN AWAY from this oil. This provides a solution to a NON problem and it might cause damage to your engine.

 

Where does the lead come from? Just curious since we drive "unleaded" cars.

 

The bearings in the engine are tin/lead alloy as they wear it gets into the oil.

 

Mark- I have found the FEH runs very well on E85. If fact, other than lower MPG, the car, nor I can tell the difference. Runs smooth as silk, and the car is more powerful. I'm using lower RPM as a measure of more power. Now, when I climb small grades ( 3-4% ) on cruise control, the Tach does not increase hardly, if at all. The tach runs 200-300 rpm lower at all speeds also.

I have read that liquid ethanol dissolves lead. Not to the point of making holes into it, but microscopic amounts would be put into the exhaust.

Can you tell me for sure one way or the other if there is lead in contact with liquid fuel in our cars? I suppose, if great enough in ppm that would be bad for the catalytic converter. Thanks.
