Default Noise From Behind Control Panel

We have a 2009 FEH. A few times a week, I notice a sound that appears to be originating from behind the control panel. It's a very faint sound that can be described best by saying it sounds like the hard drive of a computer working. Any idea what this sound might be?

Any CD's in your changer? Might this be the noise of the audio system trying to select a disk?? Just a wild guess... I can't think of anything else that could make noises like this.

That was my 1st guess too.....took the CD's out - still heard the noise! This noise is VERY faint and very random, but I do hear it.

A High pitched whine?

Is it loudest when you are idling just after startup?

If so, its probably the generator in the hybrid system.

No, this is not high pitched....not a whine. Sounds like a hard drive 'thinking' (kind of like the noise a PC would make right after you turn it on). It happens at absolutely random times and lasts for 10-15 minute timespans.
