2005 navi boot screen
i have heard of people being able to change the boot screen to another pic, but what about the disclaimer screen does anyome know how to bypass it?
it gets annoying waiting and having to press the OK button everytime.
or if anyone has found anything cool about the navi that they would like to share?

Re: 2005 navi boot screen
Here is detailed information on hacking the NAV welcome screen as well as eliminating the "nag" screen http://www.v6performance.net/forums/...ad.php?t=51626
I haven't attempted this yet, but it looks like fun. The best part is that if things go south, you can apparently disconnect the battery to reboot the system and everything will default back to the original.

Re: 2005 navi boot screen
I have done this and have a nice picture of the family instead of the Honda + World. The nag screen is also gone, but there is still the same delay and then an OK button.
The guy who wrote this was an 18 year old with a promissing computer future until his mass eMailer was used in a spam Fraud scam (not by him). bysin (His alias) now seems to be of the nets and no more testing of his navi enhancements seem to be taking place.
It seems more should be able to replicate his programming as the navi system on Honda's (Alpine) is just a dreamcast computer.
On another note, once you get into the maintenance menu you get some great new menus such as;
See all active satelites and curent pos/alt
adjust wheel size (should not need unless you do change to a dif profile)
Instant fuel flow, gals left...
change colors even further than the standard four

Re: 2005 navi boot screen
How do you get into the maintenance menu? Does holding down the Map/Guide, Menu and Cancel button take you to the maintenance menu? What is the main screen of the navigation sytem? Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,

Re: 2005 navi boot screen
gauthig: I also replaced my splash screen with a picture of my own. I was curious if you made your picture the exact same size as Honda did, 113,068 bytes? Using the dimensions of 480x234x8, I could never come up with the right size. I finally resized it to 478x233x8 and came out 112,xxx bytes. It worked fine. It sounded like some people who went bigger had some weird problems.
Jigaman: Yes, hold down those three buttons for about 5 seconds to get to the maintenance menu. Start at the map screen. I think that is called the main screen.
