Just to let everyone know here are my thoughts: An extended warranty was not needed except to remind me when to service the vehicle, the orig Toyo tires barely 25k miles. Toyo open country HT replacement tires made 90 k each time. I changed timing belt and water pump at 195k only because I was taking a 7 hour trip but the mechanic said both were still good. I paid like $680 for the work. The hybrid batteries are just fine - still get 28mpg in summer and 25 in winter (Wisconsin). Replaced the engine battery at 90k (then again at 180k because of an oil change mechanics mis diagnosis). Broke a side mirror and replaced it myself. Replaced a cracked interior rear panel that got poked by an object. Headlights burn out often - maybe replaced each one 5 times. Ah brakes- they made it to 195k but I drive mostly highway miles about 35k per year. The muffler is still great. I have owned every brand of car and truck and this toyota is superior to any of them. If anyone has questions please ask.

 

No worries on higher miles here either, congrats on still getting great MPG even in winter.

 

Boy you waited a long time on that timing belt lol. I think the service manual says every 90k miles. I know its the same schedule for the just gas model, and should be extended I think a little longer for the hybrid. This being an interference motor, and as fast as the engine starts up. If that belt was to go It would be an EPIC moment lol. Good to know everything is going strong for you though!

 

What about like replacing the coolant? Wanted to do that for a while now. Also I have around 227k miles on mine and the most annoying thing is that the engine mounting brackets are corroded (per mechanics diagnosis) and so the engin loves around and stuff and it shakes the exhaust pipeline and all that stuff connected to it and it makes this awful squeaking noise like metal on metal.
