Strut or strut/mount replacement

Strut or strut/mount replacement
Hi,
I picked up my 2006 2WD Highlander from the shop for an oil change and my mechanic recommended strut mount replacement as the ones on there now are the original ones. The car has over 114,000 miles on it and has always run beautifully. My mechanic recommended mount replacement and to reuse the strut. Any windows onto previous experiences out there?

Re: Strut or strut/mount replacement
I would say you'd be fine reusing the old spring and bellows as I often reuse the strut mount on top as well (depending on the condition of the bearing). I would also suggest doing them in pairs (front or rears) and use OEM Toyota parts if you want to maintain the same factory ride you're used to.

Never heard of Kyobi struts, did you mean KYB?
If so those are good as well but they tend to be a bit stiffer than stock.
