the 10 amp fuse included with the wiring harness from Draw Tite is the wrong size and the manual says it should be 20 amps - which amp rating did you use?

Thanks

A 10 amp will work, if you have a 5X 8 trailer. I installed a 15 amp.

I recently installed a trailer hitch (all parts from etrailer) on my 2007 HiHy. The advice was much appreciated. Getting to and from the buried wiring connection was indeed the hardest part. It didn't help when I dropped one of the snap clips down the well just as I was finishing up. Now I just need to find out where to install the fuse supplied in the Tow Ready trailer wiring kit.

Can those of you with hitches post pics of them? I would like to see what the different models look like (drawtite, hiddenhitch, toyota, etc.)

thanks

I believe that the Toyota hitch is one of the best looking hitches as it has a nice bend symmetry around the tailpipe that is also reflected on the other side. Aftermarket hitches often just slap in an ugly U bracket around the tail pipe.

The Toyota hitch also has a built in wiring harness that includes the trailer connector mounted nicely to a welded bracket.

Lastly, I am hopefully that Toyota's hitch will not flake off all its paint in a few years making the back of the Highlander look awful. I have much experience with aftermarket hitches and they typically turn to rust rather quickly. As the Highlander hitch is fully visible by necessity due to the spare tire, its appearance may be an important consideration.

Thanks. That's exactly what I wanted to see. BTW, where is the plug located? I don't see it in the picture.

Thanks again,
