The supposedly rumored 2.7 liter engine, actually went from 2.4 to 2.5 liter, but upped the power due to both cams now being variable which upped the torque. The windshield will be made of a new material. The trunk is now lots larger. A ten year, 100K mile warranty on the hybrid components including a smaller/lighter traction battery. Roomier rear seat leg room. I like the idea of this new 43 mpg city. The EV speed only increased to 45 mph.

Best of all, the new hybrid Camry is not only 250 pounds lighter than before, but its four-cylinder engine has gained more than 100 cc's of displacement along with 9 hp and 18 lb-ft of torque. The trunk is also 24 percent bigger.

I'm sure we will be seeing lots of this new model on television soon. I did read that toyota plans to flood the TV market during the month of October. I talked with the local toyota sales manager here and he told me it may be November/December when the first 2012 Camry hybrids should arrive at their dealership.
