Default Just filled up after getting 700.4 miles on my last tank!

Ok, I'm not here to toot my car's horn or anything, but I'm simply astonished at the total miles I squeezed out of the car. I'm very impressed so far with this car's performance, and when I filled up, I was able to put in 18.2 gallons of fuel. This car has saved me so much money so far, and I plan to keep this thing for a very long time. Anyone else here getting this kind of mileage on a full tank?

Regards,

Daniel S.

A while back there was another thread called "700 mile club". We all tooted our horns! Congratulations!

(although I consider Southern California to be "cheating" - it's hard to get the 45+ MPG needed to get a 700 mile tank in Chicago right now!)

Tell me about it...

I am in Michigan, and this has been one of the nastiest winters I can remember. I just filled up this morning, and got the worst mileage I have ever had with this car - 28.6. This dropped my lifetime average to 33.9 (below 34.0 for the first time). Temps here for the last week have been around 5-10 degrees F, it seems like it snows (a lot) every day, and this tank had a few trips where I let the car idle to warm it up.

I agree - Southern Cal IS cheating!

Actually my last tank (before this crazy winter storm) was at 642.8 miles. My display stated 43.1 mpg (Hand calculated to give me 40.75mpg with approx 15.774 gallons filled).

Yeah it's quite doable in warm weather with good FE. Though looks like it might be getting more doable nowadays? Looks like the 09 TCH has an 18.5 gallon tank, while the 07 only has a 17.2 gallon tank. I was wondering how you were managing to put 18.2 gallons of gas in there! The challenge! So now you've gone 700 miles on a tank, try to make it again with under 17 gallons of gas used!

Yeah, I was wondering how you managed 18.2 gallons in a car that lists it's fuel tank capacity as 17.2. The most I've ever been able to put in (filling all the way up the neck to the cap) was 16.588 with the gas gauge needle well below the E.

Yea ... so now we need to put an asterisk (*) by any 700 mile club members signature with an '08 or later.

... and inquiring minds want to know ... were there steriods in the fuel mix?
