Default Water Pump failure and TransAxle (PSD) Flush and Fill

I just did my transaxle fluid flush and today and while doing so. I noticed that my water pump is leaking.

here's the pinkish stuff scattered on my engine, last time I check (2 weeks ago) those stuff are not there yet. Setup an appt with the dealership this Tuesday.

that funnel setup... ingenious. who came up with it?

as of the water pump. welcome to the "TCH has chitty WP" Club, brother.

yeah, that fluid does not look fresh, I must say.

Congratulations on the job well done! did it do whoosh when you popped the plug open on the top?

there's a hiss sound, like it's sucking air in. the fluid looks fine, the picture just doesn't do justice because of the bright sun. it seems to be darker but not brownish.

the transmission fluid on my lincoln continental really look worst than that at 75k because it doesn't look red, more of a rusted look. got it flushed immediately.

ha-ha, I always smell mine. if it smells burnt, it's drain time.
but thing is, TF in CVT has very much different function than that one in a conventional automatic. It's basically simply a lubricant. So it should not burn out anywhere as fast as in those.

oh, yeah, pundits will fry me for using "CVT" instead of PSD. I think, Toyota still markets it as CVT though.
