Default 2007 Civic gone, 2012 Volt took its place

Well everyone, as much as I liked my Civic, I like the Volt better, yes it was expensive, but, for me, it is the perfect choice...I run on batrery to and from work, no auto shut off not happening because it is too cold or mileage drops because is is too hot or too cold on my short trip.
so far I am running about $0.50 a day to charge ...I did lease it, because, that did work best for me, in 3 years I will decide if it is really worth it, if yes, I will buy or get another, if no, not my problem. maybe move on to whatever the latest & greatest is at that time...I will start a spot in the Volt forum.

Hey Bob:
How well does the Volt perform with the ICE and what kind of FE can you expect from the ICE on a trip? H

I think it is rated at 40 or so, other owners have reported better, I don't honestly know right now, so far in 150 miles, I have burned just over a gallon...on my 60 mile trip back from the dealer (which was mostly gas, the dealer only had given it enough charge for about 15 miles) and a couple of turn on's to supply extra heat as it is quite cold here so, 40 feels about right, the display currently reads 126 mpg.
I probably wont have a good feel for mpg till spring.

I suppose colder weather will be a bit of a hit for EV. Shorter commutes will will be perfect for this car. They look like a well built Auto. H

Congrats, Bob! We picked up our 2011 Volt in April and are loving it! We still have the HCH, we had to give back the MINI E in June.

Enjoy driving electric!
