Since we civilians don't have access to the magical book of hours ..lol.. I have no idea of how long it should take but I always think it's bs paying $ for time not used ..

Hi MRH. Samething happened to me last night with my tahoe 2008 . I also have the car running all interior lights and accessories but no mouvement from the engine. My battery is a 770CCA.

I have all the services lights displaying one after the other. Question: is this normal that i cannot get it going with a boost? Should I just go and buy a new battery or do I have to get it towed. I am currently in a low ceiling underground garage and it might be difficult to tow.

You were also referring to the cranked battery. Is this the 770 CCA? Thanks in advance. JC

If the 12V battery supplys over 11.5 volts, the High Voltage battery should start the truck.

If it won't crank, somthing is holding that up. Scroll through the DIC messages of V8-V4 odometer to the Voltage. If above 11.5 with key on, the 12V does not need a jump.

If 12V is up and ok, a tow or scan tool is needed.

A 5 minute disconect of the 12V will re-set codes. It may go after that.

Thanks Hillbilly.

Went back to the truck today and the battery was at 9. Borrowed a big battery pack. After 10 minutes of being disconnected I cranked it with the pack and up it went.

You helped me a few months ago and you came through again on this one. I am gratefull you take the time to help mortals like us. Instead of spending monday like a chicken with no head, i will take it easy and enjoy the first day of my retirement. Thanks again. JC from Montreal....

In these 2-Modes, if you are going to just hang out or tail-gate leave it actually running and let it Auto-Stop and start cycle. It can do that all day for a little gas.

These new vehicles have so much 12V draw in Accessory. It's not like my 1964 Corvair that could play the AM radio in Accessory for days.

You may only have minutes depending on many variables.

very true these newer vehicals can no longer just "hang out " in accesory status . they have to many mouths to feed in electronics .so ive learned the hard way to just keep the truck running it knows when to start and stop to keep it running charged.plus its funny to see the peoples faces when your trucks starts by itself and they all wondering how ...lol
