2011 Tahoe Hybrid General Motors Protection Plan
Hello I'm purchasing a 2011 Tahoe Hybrid with only 64,000 miles for $25,500 from a Chevy dealer. It looks like new and rides great. With having 9 months or 36,000 miles on power train and 4 years or 36, 000 miles left on the hybrid warranty is it a good idea to get a service contract. General Motors Protection Plan is the only one I would consider, dealer tried to push some off-brand company on me. GM plan is expensive at 3 years 45,000 miles for $3800 added into financing. I just don't know what might fail and leave me stuck if I don't have a warranty. I purchased one on my 2010 Tahoe hybrid last year that had only 70,000 miles and my wife has out 30,000 on it in a year and we never had any issues. Thoughts?? I only use Mobil 1 EP oil.

call NAC Auto warranty, ask them what dealers in your area are dealers for their ext warranty program. Get their Pinnacle warranty plan, they cover a bunch.. Like rear air ride suspension and video/head units, etc.. I have used them numerous times for my 08 Escalade. I was calling around today getting quotes.
Some dealers have different plans, but here is what I gathered today.
4yr-50k $ 2665
4yr-75k $3163
4yr-100k $3651
5yr-75k $3295
5yr-100k $3954
I hope this helps.. Im getting price quotes for my new used purchase for a 2012 Escalade Hybrid. Most dealers will have close prices, but vary a little in prices. Ask them to give you multiple dealers close to you as you will have to drive your vehicle their and let them inspect it.
Here is their contact number-- 1-800-548-1875 I have no-affiliation with them, they stood behind $9k plus worth of work for me over the past 14 months.
Great site!!

The hybrid components had factory warranty up to 100k miles/8 years. If you're getting a warranty make sure it covers front and rear shocks and air compressors. The front shocks have a life of 80k miles. The rear last more than twice that. It's the air compressor and turnings that leaks at 188k miles, then again I towed a GLK350 4 matic for 950 miles. It should also cover the nav head unit, a common issue at 120k miles. Water pump leak happened early at 60k miles and was just an incidental finding that was replaced under warranty. Other than that enjoy your hybrids!

Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to look into that NAC warranty and make sure I find one that covers shocks. Now I'm looking over GMPP to see if they cover shocks and I don't see it listed. Ridiculous for that price they wouldn't cover shocks.

Thanks Evois. I see it shows McPherson struts front the front but nothing for rears. Does that price seem ok for the mileage I have on a 2011 tahoe hybrid with 64,000 miles. 3 years 45,000 miles for $3800 with $100 deductible.

Wow! So I might as well go with the warranty they are offering because I looked at the brochure and it says shocks under front and rear suspension. It's with. Company named Fidelity. Saw some so so reviews after googleing them. Need to call my local dealer and ask if they deal with them. I have ASC on my 2010 tahoe hybrid but have yet to have to use it. They did me good on our 2011 Traverese that was a money pit. Such a hard decision.
