Default Stalling Problems 2008 Yukon Hybrid

I just purchased a 2008 Yukon Hybrid about a month ago. It has nearly 96000 miles on it and since we've had it, it has stalled out on us about 4-5 times. It seems to happen after sitting idle for a short time. Today it was a red light. This is very concerning and I've read in prior posts that this may be a battery problem. I'm worried that being so close to 100,000 miles that if I take it to the dealer, they may say it's something else and then suddenly the battery warrant runs out. Does the dealer have a test that they can do on the battery? I purchased a 1 year warranty due to the high mileage, so I do have that option as well. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I should note that it kinda lurches forward before it stalls. The check engine light then comes on for a short time and then goes away.

We really like the Yukon, but this is very concerning.

Just bring it back to the dealer. They can check the life of the 300v hybrid battery.

If it is shutting down there will be driver information messages like Service Hybrid and or check engine light. There will be stored codes and more important Freeze Frames that a dealer can read.

Do NOT let the dealer simply cleaer the codes and "see what comes back". Get the data stored in those freeze frames.

I just got it back from the Dealer. They reprogrammed the ECBM, HCP, ECM and TCM control modules. Advised it was under warranty, so no charge. They also advised that there was a code for the catalytic converter and it would need to be replaced. $1200.00 I had them hold off on that for now. Does this sound like an issue that would cause stalling?

Apparently they checked the battery, but did not give us the results. They didn't imply that it was an issue.

The converter will NOT cause stalling. I will repeat the call to get the codes and associated Freeze Frames.

It's too late now. They say there is a catalytic converter code? What specific number?

So the opportunity to find the real cause is gone and you can only hope it doesn't stall again.

At least the next time there will be fresh codes.
