Re: what's new in 2011
Buried in that press release:
"Exhaust system and resonator specially tuned for the 6.0L LIVC engine’s Active Fuel Management operation. This new exhaust system ensures comfortable interior acoustics and a pleasant exhaust note during both V-4 and V-8 operation"
What it means: No more big resonator at the back, replaced by new mechanical exhaust valve, which is a 30+ lb net weight savings.

Re: what's new in 2011
KC,
Can one switch to the new exhaust system, and remove the resonator on 2010 Tahoe? or is it a total different system?
Also can I upgrade to the latest onstar software mentioned above with my 2010 model?
Thanks

Re: what's new in 2011
I'm sure it fits, and it lets you put the spare tire on if you want. But I'm sure the 2011-spec cat-back exhaust isn't cheap, it it's even available. Esp where you are.
The On-Star update should just be a software update. But there may some interface issue I don't know about that may prevent backwards compatibility to 2010MY. I noticed all the 2011 GM models have the new OnStar. I can ask about that. But usually the dealers won't update something unless there is a specific issue that is addressed by the new software. I know my 09 Saab doesn't have the latest-greatest stuff flashed in the ECM and TCM, but dealer won't update it just because.

Re: what's new in 2011
Thanks KC for your reply.
I thought it would be a small valve that I can use instead of the resonator. I am sure my dealer doesn't have it but they can order it, but I don't think I will do that if it is not a cheap part for the time being.
I would appreciate it if you can ask about the Onstart upgrade, I can have my dealer upgrade my software without extra fee if it is compatible., I have done it before.
looking forward to hearing from you
Thanks
