MMH has higher ground clearance than MM
 
Interesting that the MMH has the highest ground clearance of all the MM models.
Is this a safety factor?

I had not heard that.

To the best of my knowledge, the Ford Escape, and FEH are the same.

The other models have running boards, the Hybrid does not.

I'm confused by this statement. I have running boards on my '08 FEH. Do you mean in that link the running boards made a difference?

Do the running boards hang down just half an inch lower than the rest of the car? That's all we are talking about is half an inch difference in ground clearance.

I'm not looking at the vehicle now, but they seem even with the bottom of the vehicle. I'll have to check...
