There is no difference between N, D, and L, except software. No physical difference at all.

OK everyone, I tried my friend's driveway again Thursday night and this time I forced the ICE on while in reverse using defrost/defog mode and I did successfully climb all the way up his ~17% driveway. At very slow speeds it was still a bit of a challenge but with even a moderate running start it was rather easy. The FEH hardly even slowed down as it climbed. I was quite impressed!

The 90 mile trip each way there and back also had me hypermiling based on the mileage computer (29+ MPG on the 4WD) so this was an added bonus!:)
