Stop Safely randomly in cold weather - C1862,P0A27 ,P0562
Hello,
We have a 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid that runs fine in the warmer months. However, when it gets cold the car will give the orange triangle and pull over safely message. Sometimes this happens instantly. Other time it will be after an hour of driving. Here is the android forscan lite results. I'm having issues finding what this code really means: Code: C1862 - Contactor Circuit Failure ===TCM DTC P0562-FF=== Code: P0562 - System Voltage Low Module: Transmission Control Module ===END TCM=== ===PCM DTC P1A10-FF=== Code: P1A10 - Hybrid Powertrain Control Module - Battery Disabled Module: Powertrain Control Module ===END PCM=== ===OBDII DTC === Successful DTC reading, no error codes found Module: On Board Diagnostic II ===END OBDII=== ===4X4M DTC === Successful DTC reading, no error codes found Module: 4X4 Control Module ===END 4X4M=== ===ABS DTC === Successful DTC reading, no error codes found Module: Antilock braking system ===END ABS=== ===BCM DTC P0A27-20=== Code: P0A27 - Battery Power Off Circuit Status: - Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Battery Control Module ===END BCM=== ===BCM DTC C1862-20=== Code: C1862 - Contactor Circuit Failure Status: - Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Battery Control Module ===END BCM=== ===EPS DTC === Successful DTC reading, no error codes found Module: Electronic-Controlled Power Steering ===END EPS=== ===IC DTC === Successful DTC reading, no error codes found Module: Instrument Cluster ===END IC=== ===RCM DTC === Successful DTC reading, no error codes found Module: Restraint Control Module ===END RCM=== ===GEM DTC === Successful DTC reading, no error codes found Module: Generic Electronic Module ===END GEM=== |

I've never shot this problem but it could potentially be as simple as a bad/open service disconnect plug on the High Voltage Traction Battery.

Hope it helps. Otherwise you're going to be shooting that Pin-40 test and I have no idea what the P0562-FF System Voltage Low might indicate, other than the obvious. You should try to get a reading on the voltage level of the HVTB with Forscan.
