Tire choices for 2016
 

I'm looking to replace the tires on my 2008 Mariner Hybrid 2wd. I'm in Chicago. The Michelin Latitude Tour seems to be discontinued in 235/70r16 size; it doesn't show as available on Michelin.com and Costco told me it would be a "special order". I'm not sure about buying a discontinued size. What is the best alternative available today? Thanks!

You can still get them on tirerack. I just looked. I bought 4 this summer and took them to Walmart and had them mounted. This is my 3rd set. The first new on the vehicle, the second at 60K miles and the third at 130K miles.

I ended up getting the Bridgestone Ecopia's at Costco. They were about $100 less than the Michelins. If I have a problem with the Ecopia's I know replacements are available. They are much quieter than the old Kelly SUV tires that it came with. Highway mileage after one day is 2-3 mpg more, I'll know for sure when I fill up later today.

Tire rack had a low inventory of the Michelins and they were on some kind of special clearance I just didn't feel good about their future availability in case there was a problem.
