New '09 Silverado 4x4 Hybrid
Hello all. I have been having a heckofa time finding a decent forum for the trucks. Still no main forum on here for that. Maybe we can get the moderator to add one.
I brought my truck home on Halloween night. I have run only about 5 tanks through so far. My averages were as follows
19.1
19.875
19.4
18.7 (pulling a 4500#boat/trailer during tank)
19.1 (after trans controller 09241 recall reprogram)
I will add my experiences, ideas, questions, and observations to the forum in time. Just wanted to post a website to give feedback to GM regarding these vehicles. Be accurate and fair. If we want them to listen and don't want them to throw the baby out with the bath water, so to speak.

Well, I don't know what the GM discount is and what the dealers are doing now. But, I paid quite a bit less than MSRP. I paid the supplier rate which I believe was about 2700 less than MSRP then minus the 5000 in GM discounts. Then a savings of 2200 in direct Hybrid tax credit plus an additional 700-900 in the American Recovery and Stabilization Act of 2009. So even comparing to a fully loaded top end Z-71 crew cab, with the tax savings was less than a 500 difference. I felt is was equitable. But an update on the fuel economy. I have found myself having to race everywhere since Christmas time. Rushing is not a good thing in a hybrid and you are going to sacrific mileage when you do. So here is the full MPG since new.

But when you figure jack rabbit starts and batman stops with driving 75mph in some of those tanks, I am amazed at only getting a reduction of 1-1.5mpg decrease. All in all, if I had it to do over again, I would go for it. But, what I wouldn't do is order it with the NAV and leather. All of that is nice but I like cloth better, just the 09 cloth was not to my liking. And I think you can get a NAV, rear view camera setup aftermarket that if that is important to you, you can save several thousand going that route. I wanted the interface with steering wheel controls and have it, it is just not as good as I was hoping for. Not like the Toyota setup. But the Nav is basically the same, just no sync to your contacts on your phone with the ability to put them all in the trucks database, it only holds 30 contacts. Bluetooth is mandatory today and can get that aftermarket too. But it is nice the way the factory does it.

I would guess that they would really have warranty issues with you putting duallys on this truck, they say that they wont stand behind the warranty if you change the wheels from OEM for this truck.
