yeah ive seen that, plug and play for like $1000. You also get DVD on the front screen and I believe outputs for DVD to a rear screen. GM tried to insert ancient technology into the mix called OnStar in an attempt to prevent you from using your cell phone in the vehicle, and make a few bucks. Some brain dead owners fell for it, most shrugged it off.

You can buy an aux in/bluetooth converter for less than $50 though.

I think DVD is pointless in the front, as is GM's horribly outdated Nav system. The existing unit serves as a nice place to mount the suction cup for a proper GPS, like iphone running googlemaps. At least the GM engineers got that part of the design correct.

I had a Kenwood DNX690HD installed by Car Toys, had to install a separate microphone for hands free conversation from the GM installed unit by the drivers head. Love the Navigation screen supported by Garmin. the Bluetooth works great with my Samsung phone. Had to complete several updates to resolve some bugs but its working great since. Steering controls still are utilized.

Upgrading your NAV will not give you Bluetooth.
VCIM swap to add Bluetooth
If your going to upgrade go with a 2012+ Nav Unit.

Thanks for the link to my thread over on TYForum. My experience with the new VCIM has been great. I retained all factory door chimes, Onstar features, etc. and even gained the ability to use the app on my phone to remote start my truck from anywhere (this is especially useful when I land at the airport and can either heat/cool my truck while I'm walking to it.)

In response to the above, upgrading your Nav actually CAN give you bluetooth capability depending on the Nav you go with. Using a factory Nav will not work...but many aftermarket brands do offer this. You could possibly use the existing Mic with the proper wiring harness.

The OP was asking about factory nav. Surely they already knew that an aftermarket can have Bluetooth.
