600 Mile-Club

Re: 600 Mile-Club
Well, I'm in now. Last tank was 607.6 miles. Had .6 gallons left as well, so I could have gone anothe 25-30 miles or so. Not bad, considering the traffic and routes that I have to drive daily.

Re: 600 Mile-Club
I drive a 1st generation HCH, but I did get a 630 mile tank *once*. It was great. I was driving to Lurray caverns from Baltimore. It was a 75 degree day with low humidity, no wind, and smooth traffic (60 MPH for several hours). It was basically the perfect day. Usually I get between 480 and 510 since 90% of my driving is in downtown Baltimore.

Re: 600 Mile-Club
woohoo! 2 weeks ago, I hit 600.7 miles in my HCHII clocking at 53.2mpg and the fuel bars had just emptied. At the pump, refilled only 11 gallons, so probably could've gone on longer...
I'm back down to 50 on my current tank thanks to stormy weather and high winds

Re: 600 Mile-Club
My best tank was 701 miles getting 67.0 MPG.
Then it took only 10.5 gallons to fill it up so I guess I could have gone further.
I get nervous when all the tank LEDs go out though.

Re: 600 Mile-Club
I just had my first 600 mile tank. 608.5 to be exact. Put 11.962 gallons back into it. 50.9 MPG calculated. The trip MPG only said 49.1. This is only the second tank. I don't think the dealer filled it all the way up on my first tank. We've had a real cold snap the last week or so. I'd say this tank the temps were at least 10 degrees colder than the first tank. Seems like people have been seeing a significant increase in mileage after the first oil change with Mobile 0w20. Between that and warmer temps this summer I will probably see better mileage in the coming months. Wow, what a neat car!

Re: 600 Mile-Club
Congrats to all - you are all "Kramers" on that famous Seinfeld episode where he goes way past E.
I would have joined you this week as I was at 53mpg with about 4-5 LED bars to go but:
1) I started a good vs bad driving techniques test log (posted on milage board) on Thursday and accidentally reset my A mpgs (tank MPGs) during the test... and
2) The "bad" driving techniques in the test were netting me only 45mpg (versus 55mpg+) - which would have blown the 600 mile tank anyhow.
I will be with you all next tank.....

Re: 600 Mile-Club
I had my first 600+ tank yesterday. Filled up at 606.3 at 60MPG. I still had one square left, but it was making my wife very nervous. I agreed to fill it up once we crossed the 600 mile mark. Only took 10 gallons to fill it. I love this car!
Take care,
Jess

Re: 600 Mile-Club
How funny. I was doing a search on 600+ mile tanks and I came across this post I made. We did get that Odyssey.

Re: 600 Mile-Club
I agree that its a little worrysome to be that close, but after a few times of only putting 10 gallons in you can point out to your wife that you still have another 2.4 gallons, or at least 100 more miles until you need to fill up! (depending on your FE and how far you want to push it) 100+ more miles when it says empty! (That's a 1/3 of a tank on some cars)
