Anybody heard of yet another battery firmware update?
 

As I mentioned in my other thread, I just came from a dealer who applied another firmware update to the battery. This is after the one that everybody got and supposedly new, as when I was there in May everything was up to date. Any ideas of what this one does? As much as I pressed I got nothing useful from the service advisor- I don't think he had any idea

The service people do what the directives tell them! The haven't a clue why these changes are to be made. H

Funny thing is, they also wanted me to pay for it. In the 5 years I had the car, this is the first at that dealer. They did change ownership recently, so I wonder if that's where that's coming from. I basically told them that I'd have to know what the update fixes or breaks before I agree to pay for it ;) To put it in perspective, "we will charge you to install a part that makes your car go slower"..

I just had my '09 HCH at the dealer on Wednesday for its final service before the warranty expires at 36K miles. The advisor checked and found NO software updates.
