California Warranty

I live in Oregon. Now, if I take a days ride to California and purchase
a 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid will I have the 150,000 mile / 15 year warranty
on the vehicle even when I register the vehicle in Oregon?

Re: California Warranty

Can't say for certain, but I'd be willing to bet that it's only applicable while the vehicle is owned and operated inside California's borders. It is, after all, a CA State law. Oregon law would most likely apply for you.

Re: California Warranty

I called Honda January 2006 with the same question, almost.

I lived in California and was considering buying my HCH in Oklahoma.

Honda said it doesn't matter where you buy it.
It matters which state it is FIRST registered in.

So if you buy it in Calif but first register it in OR you would NOT get the Calif warranty.

That was Honda's policy Jan 2006.
You may call them today to see if it has changed, but I would not hold my breath.

I've heard the same thing as kenny. Although if you buy in CA, doesnt the dealer register it in CA? So you would get a 10 year / 150k warranty on the battery.

Re: California Warranty

So, if I bought a car "in California". Registered it "in California". Drove home to Oregon and re-registered it in Oregon, the California warranty will apply?
