Can't find my front jacking bracket
Attempting to do my first ever oil change (and soon a transmission flush) but I can't find the dang front jacking bracket, the pictures in the service manual do no good, they show dead center and there's nothing but plastic dead center... Just behind the tow hook seems like a possible point, but I don't know... the side jack points don't seem wide enough to fit a jack AND jackstand beside each other without seriously risking a drop
*edit* finally found it, dead center as the manual said... jacked my car as high as the jack would go, and the passenger side jack stand slide into place barely, but the drivers side wouldn't fit :( is there anywhere else I can jack it? Because I definitely cannot get the jackstand underneath the jack point with the jack there, tried a hundred ways and even with only a millimeter of the jack making contact the jackstand wouldn't even TOUCH it (much less make a stable work area) |
Re: Can't find my front jacking bracket
I use ramps.

Ditto. Ramps are a time saver....

Used a block of wood, done and done...
Though I'm probably gonna exchange the jack stands and try to get shorter ones... |
