I've blown two fuses...and learned from it

Apparently the act of plugging in my cell phone charger can sometimes blow a fuse. I've blown each accessory power supply once. When I removed the fuse and took it to an auto parts store I got a strange look.

"What's that? Oh, I see your driving a Honda. Try the dealer" was their advice.
Sure enough, the dealer had:

For a mere $1.59 \o/ <-- that's me with my hands up whilst being robbed.
I've since found them online for $0.40.
I've found three kinds of blade fuses on the web, the nearest in size being:

Does anyone know the correct name for these fuses?
Has anyone blown a fuse by merely plugging in a simple device?
From now on, I'll turn the car off first.

For gorier detail, I've put bigger photos here, including pictures of the fuse boxes in case you're not a contortionist.

Thanks for the info. Plug the sucker in at home and avoid the hassle :)

I blew one as well and got strange looks from Auto parts employees. I then found that there are several extra replacement fuses located in the cover for the fuse box under the hood next to the engine.

Do a search here for fuses. I posted about this and someone came up with the name. I did an exhaustive online search and could only find them in bulk. Guess the Honda dealer is the best bet for now. Seriously, how much space could Honda have possibly saved using these over the standard fuses?
