Canadian 2006 HCH $2,700 less than 2005 HCH?

Apparently, the price dropped in Canada from $28,500 to $25,800 for the new model year.

Any Canadians around to confirm this? That seems ODD, no?:confused:

At the current exchange rate, that's 22,282 $US. Compared against 21,850 $US in the USA, that's probably the closest I've seen two models priced to each other in the two countries.

That is about the price for the base Prius.

I expected Honda to undercut Toyota in hybrid pricing. Seems like I am wrong, unless the HCH has bundled features that are extras in the Prius line. Anybody know ?

The base price for the Prius in Canada is $30,000 -- STILL! Bleh.
