OK...I see on Kelly's Blue Book site (http://www.kbb.com) that


andI have a promise of $21,000 plus TT&L for a non-NAVI from a dealer. I would really prefer the NAVI and I still feel like there's enough "wiggle" room to have them get down to around $21,000.



Is it possible. Not to be greedy, but if I don't ask, It definitely won't happen, but would it be fair of me to request that they include lifetime car washes, oil changes, tire rotate and balance and loaner during any service stays?

Guess I can always ask and they can say "No Way" I just feel like what is listed as "Invoice" is still not the lowest they can go.

I ordered an 06 with navi in july, I took delivery in late october of an 07. I am actually very surprised that there are any 06 cars sitting around that didnt have people waiting for them.

just check on ebay. there are a couple of new ones on there at dealers some with nave and without.

$23,245 w/ navi and $24,500 out the door for my '06. Probably the last white one with navi on the east coast. I was also quite surprised that there were quite a few '06 models leftover.

Probably because the dealers were greedy and wanted to get MSRP for them when the 2007s are hitting the lot. Nobody wants to pay MSRP for a 2006 when they can get the 2007 model year at MSRP sans the depreciation of a 2006.

Do not finance through a car dealer. If financing is necessary, use a commercial lender. The shell game is difficult to follow when buying a car and using the same dealer for financing. and it is their game.

We got 3.9 on our 05 Accord EX and 4.9 on the 06 Civic EX with Honda.

Get the price of the car. dealer fee and dest. In writing. Then talk about the loan. You still have to have the hard numbers when going to another lender. If they then try to play games. Just leave. Wag finger at them and walk out.

I agree with Psyshack.
Even though it is more difficult to make the dealer play it straight, ignoring dealer financing can sometimes cost you dollars, too.
I got 0% (for 5 years!) and Invoice pricing on my 2003 Mazda Tribute.
I got 6.45% for 5 years and $1500 off MSRP on my 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. 6.5% was about the going rate.

We had an odd experience with financing
 

We bought the HCH on a spur of the moment decision and were not prepared with financing options before walking into the dealership. When we sat down with the finance guy, we learned that he was the dealership's director of finance and was working that Saturday since some of his people were on vacation. Honda's going rate was 6.35% but he actually got out a book of lenders and thumbed through it until he found us a rate of 6.17%. Since we weren't prepared, we would have pulled the trigger at 6.35% but it was really cool that he went the extra mile to get us a good rate. He also gave us the 8 year 100k warranty for $1995 which seemed extremely cheap to me.

Overall, we got the car for about $700 off sticker which was essentially $1400 off the 2007 sticker. It's possible we could have gotten more for the trade in ($5k vs $5.4k FMV at Edmunds), but I'm still pretty stoked about the deal we got.

You got hosed on the warranty, period.

A genuine Hondacare policy, 8-yr/120k miles, $0 deductible, is $925 from www.hondawarrantyinfo.com. The 8-yr/100k miles, $0 deductible plan you bought sells for $100 less.

So go back, cancel the extended warranty, and buy it from Bernardi's instead.
