EV button? anyone install one?
 

I was wondering has anyone installed an EV button like the one in the 08-09 highlander? If so I would like to know how you got it to work? thanks in advance

I have a '08 HiHy with nearly 20k miles. I was very disappointed with the EV button. It allows you to push just a wee bit more on the throttle before the engine starts. It always cuts out at 25mph. Furthermore, when I push the EV button I often get the remark "EV mode not available", even when the battery appears to be fully charged. Don't spend much money on it.

I think that I would first modify the control system to allow non-regenerative braking coastdown periods. Automatically signal/move the CVT into neutral when the gas pedal is fully released.

Only use regenerative braking during actual braking.

I am new to the forum, but it seems that very few people have installed the ev button into the lexus 400h. If someone has, please let me know how and where to get it? Thanks so much for the forum so far.
