$54,000! Man, I hope there are a lot of rich people out there that want hybrids. That must mean the Highlander will come in over $40K. That's a lot for new technology.

Hi AZMerf:

___At today’s exchange, that comes to be about $39.5 K USD for the RXh here in the US which is still a bunch. $39.5 K is not really outrageous for a Lexus RX so the RXh sounds relatively inexpensive by comparison. Then again, the MDX’s are less costly to procure in Canada so there is a possible currency play not evident in the exchange rates. We shall see soon enough.

___Thanks for the link.

___Good Luck

Thanks Wayne. I thought that was a little high and I agree $40K is a little more manageable which means the Highlander will not be in the stratosphere.

Is the "Stick Up" the premium over and above the MSRP (or just over the non-hybrid version). :)

I was a local Toyota dealer here in Phoenix asking about the Highlander about 6 weeks ago. Wouldn't even talk to me. First, there was a "very long waiting list" and then there is the $5K premium, "you know." Huge turn off. I called Toyota Motor Corp and complained.

Stevo12886 06-02-2004 08:34 PM

over the MSRP of a comparable non-hybrid

so that makes prius... 15k over an imaginary non-hybrid car

rah.
