Default 2010 Sierra Hybrid remote start issues

I just had the remote start on my sierra programmed (bought fobs and code, had dealer program..) and it doesn't seem to work.... I have gotten it to work a few times but most of the time the vehicle makes a noise like something is running but its not the motor. So, I push the lock button, then remote start for a few seconds, lights flash and nothing..... Is this a hybrid thing? am I doing something wrong here??? Does it have anything to do with the engine already being warmed up?? Im at a loss here help!!
