I received a quote to cover the forward portion of the hood, fender tips, mirror backs and front bumper for $535 using the 3M product. Is this a good price?

Orcrone: It's looks like a good deal to me. According to your quote, my grill and door cups cost about $200.

Thanks David,

Washing my car this weekend I noticed some chipped paint and decided it wouldn't be a bad idea.

The price is in the ballpark. For my HiHy, I paid $475 for Ventureshield on the front (Mirrors, hood, fenders, bumber and partial grill), 3M on the headlights and rear bumper.

My only stone chip (so far - 9,000 miles) occurred during a long trip. The chip is approximately 14 inches above the front hoodline seam. Would this product have helped me? The Magnetic Grey touch up was $7.15 at Toyota and you can no longer see the chip.

WillyBill: No, at least not on my wife's TCH. The Avery mask only comes up about 10 to 12 inches on the hood.

I'm going to have mine done soon and will have the entire hood covered. That gets rid of the line which is usually the only way you can tell if the film's been applied.

Just got the 3M hood/bumper/rear bumper/mirror kit on my TCH. I have the extended coverage hood kit that extends 22" from the leading edge of the hood. It looks great on the Magnetic grey. Best of all, I have a great installer here in NW suburban IL.

Exclamation Re: Avery stone and bug protection

Word of advise. I had Avery product put on my 2003 Acura. It was in a accident and I needed to have it replaced. Took me 6 hours to remove. kept breaking off and left the sticky glue behind. Fingers are bruised from removing this product. Stick with 3m. Lasts better and comes off easy. I guess you get what you pay for.
