Component under front passenger seat?
 

Can someone tell me what the component is under my front passenger seat? My 07 TCH is a non-Nav, no leather seats (so no seat heaters). I was thinking it might be an amp for the radio system or something.

No crisis, just wondering.

Usually the audio amp and/or the woofer.

That's the amplifier for the radio. It's bulky and is in a cooler place than under the dash. I use to repair car radios before the high powered amps came out. About 95% of all early solid state car radios needed the output transistors replace. Not easy when you had to replace all the rf coils and resistors around them that had also burned out.

The amps today are heavy built and should never give trouble.
