I have had to use mine on a couple of mornings with dew and it didn't get the rear window cleared in 2.5 miles (how far I have to go), but the outside mirrors were clear within a 1/4 mile! My Honda and Chrysler rear defroster were much faster!

Matt, you have my vote for the best misspelling of the year! I KNEW the the Beltway was fully of greedy b**tards!!!
Ha, well we have a road here called the Dulles Greenway. I get on at Exit 7, and I take the road around 4 miles to the end, and for that priviledge I pay $3 EACH WAY every day.

So I call it the Dulles Greedway. And they want to raise the tolls to $4.20! Its owned by a private company.

So, it sounds like I'm not the only one that has noticed this. As was said, nobody's perfect. But still, if GM can build a rear window defroster than clears the thing in less than 5 minutes, why can't Toyota?

Even winter frost cleared quickly. This kind of frost today would have taken probably 2 minutes, max, for the whole rear window.
Wasn't it GM that had those rear defrosters that got so hot so fast the glass was blowing out? It wasn't so much about the 'how hot' as 'how fast'.

I think most Japanese cars have slow defrosters. I haven't tried the one on my TCH yet, but my 2000 Solara, and 1991 Acura Integra, were also very slow to defrost.
